Everything you always wanted to know about the HB&B Sub Club but were afraid to ask...
These are no ordinary beer and wine subscription boxes. If you want a cheap box stuffed with shelf turds, bin ends and close to date products, there are plenty around. But with the HB&B Sub Club, we’re talking seriously great selections - award winners, limited edition, the beers and wines getting all the love from those who know, the kind of things we get very excited about. You also save considerably on what you'd pay for these products individually - up to 20% depending on the box and the length of subscription.
Can I choose my own beers and wines? What if I don't like dark/sour/hoppy/red/white/[insert style here] beers/wines?
No. The HB&B Sub Club beer and wine boxes have been specially curated to showcase a wide range of styles and expand your horizons, but if you'd prefer to select your own products, just head to our online shop and go crazy.
Do I have to get the box every month?
Both the All Killer No Filler beer box and Natural Wine Killers wine box are monthly subscriptions, but you can easily skip a month if you’re heading away or have ended up with too much beer or wine in your fridge.
How do I skip a month?
Simply login into your account and click on Billing Schedule to see all of your upcoming orders. To skip a delivery, click Skip next to the delivery you’d like to skip.
What’s all this 'membership' business?
So that we can assure all HB&B Sub Club members get the very best beers and wines, we cap the number of boxes available, increasing the numbers as and when stocks allow. Once we've reached our limit, anyone wanting to sign up after that will have the opportunity to go on a waiting list and will be notified when a place frees up.
When will my box be sent out?
Natural Wine Killer wine boxes are sent out on or around the 8th of each month. All Killer No Filler beer boxes are sent out on or around the 15th of each month.
When will I be billed?
When you sign up, your first payment will be taken immediately. After that, if you choose the monthly box, which auto-renews each month until you decide to stop, you’ll be billed on the 5th of every month for the wine box; or the 10th of every month for the beer box.
Will my subscription automatically renew?
If you are on a monthly rolling subscription, this will automatically renew each month until you decide to stop. If you have purchased a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription, these will conclude at the end of your chosen time period. You can always sign up again easily through your account login.
Tell me more about the shipping.
We charge shipping as an additional cost because we know some customers will want to pick up at shop, and besides, all of our boxes are already nicely discounted (see above). For rolling monthly subscriptions, we charge a standard shipping fee of £7.95 per box for deliveries to the UK mainland, with separate rates for Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and the EU (these are detailed at checkout). We offer subsidised shipping for 3, 6 and 12-month subscriptions. Please note we cannot offer free shipping on these boxes - please select the SUB BOX-specific shipping options at checkout.
Do I have to get it shipped?
No - simply select the pick up at shop option when you sign up and choose to collect from either our Peckham or Deptford shops. For space and storage reasons, however, you’ll need to be able to collect your box from your chosen shop within 7 days of being notified that it’s packed and ready for pick-up, unless by prior arrangement.
Why is it so expensive to Northern Ireland/Scottish Highlands/EU?
We ask this question all the time. Who knows why couriers charge such crazy fees? But they do. You can be assured we make no money from our courier charges - in fact, we absorb some of the costs to make it more reasonable for you.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Of course. All you need to do is log into your account and click the cancellation button, and your deliveries will cease. If you’ve signed up to a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription and bow out early, you’ll be refunded the remainder of your subscription in line with the number of boxes you've received. Please do take the time to let us know why you’ve cancelled as we greatly appreciate receiving your feedback..
I have an HB&B discount code - can I use it with the subscription boxes?
Sorry, no. The boxes are already discounted, so you're already winning.
Why "up to 12" beers when the wine box is always three wines?
Wines generally come in one size, but beers come in many different formats. To ensure each beer box is amazing, we want to have the flexibility to include all kinds of beers - these could be 750ml sharers, 660ml bombers or deservedly expensive sours - rather than being tied to 12 small bottles. No filler, remember? That’s our promise.
Will you be doing a vegan or gluten-free beer box?
Not as an ongoing subscription box at this time, but please feel free to get in touch with us and we can put together a selection for you.
