Click & Collect:
Place your order online and choose 'pick up at shop' at checkout. We'll pack your order right away and send you a confirmation email. Your order will be ready to pick up during our shop opening hours. Due to space constraints, orders must be collected within 7 days unless by prior arrangement.
Unfortunately our current fulfilment partner for our economy shipping service has had to substantially increase its pricing for 2019, making it unviable for us to continue to offer the service at this time. We are working on finding a solution as soon as possible - watch this space.
Overnight Weekday Shipping:
We charge a standard shipping fee of £7.95 for orders to the UK mainland. We use the APC Transexpress/DHL overnight services, as we believe they offer the best, most reliable service. Though we cover part of the cost to keep it as low as possible, it may still work out slightly more expensive than some other courier services – however, it offers your purchases the best chance of arriving in one piece!
We can deliver to Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands for £20.95.
Orders placed before 12pm Mon-Fri will be shipped on the same day. Orders placed at weekends will be dispatched on the next working day. Most overnight service orders are received the following working weekday but please allow 2-3 working days in the event of an unexpected delay. APC/Transexpress/DHL will provide you with tracking information and options should you need to rearrange delivery. Any questions regarding your delivery, please get in touch.
Free UK Shipping:
All orders over £75 have free next weekday shipping (UK Mainland Only excluding Scottish Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland).
We ship around the EU using DHL's road service. The rate for your order is determined by what you order, its weight and destination. This is calculated in the checkout. So fill your cart, select your country and check your shipping rate on the shipping page. It is your responsibility to ensure that alcohol deliveries are permissible in your country. Please make sure you are happy to pay for local taxes or custom charges (if any) before you place an order. If you place an order and reject the goods when a customs charge is applicable we reserve the right to deduct shipping and any other costs incurred prior to processing any refund. We regret that we cannot ship flagons to the EU - maintaining the freshness of the beer is paramount.
We use thick walled cardboard boxes and paper padding for most orders - we try to avoid plastic where possible but will sometimes reuse bubble wrap and biodegradable chips from goods that have been sent to us. Economy service orders handled by our delivery partner Weengs may also sometimes include plastic protective materials where it has been determined this is the best option for the safe delivery of your goods.
Very occasionally, an order may arrive damaged due to courier mishandling. We prefer to refund on these rare occasions rather than use more wasteful packaging on every delivery. If your delivery arrives damaged, please send us a photo of the package and broken contents and we will arrange a refund or, if practical, a replacement.
If you're unhappy with your delivery, please contact us via email or telephone (+44 20 7450 0284) within seven working days after it's received. The items must be returned in their original condition and packaging within 14 days from the date of delivery of your order. We will refund the value of your order minus any discounts and delivery charges. Ensuring the safe return of the package and postage cost will be the responsibility of you, the customer.
Title is retained with Hop Burns & Black Ltd until payment in full is received, and until you, the customer, takes final delivery of the goods.
We make every effort to supply goods as shown on our web site, however occasionally we do have to substitute beers for an alternative of equal or greater value, where a valid substitute is available. In the event this needs to happen, we will always attempt to contact you first.
